Image to Video is one of the most powerful features on Veedco. Instead of describing everything from scratch, you start with an image and tell the AI how to animate it. The results can be remarkably cinematic when done right.
Not all images animate equally well. High-resolution photos with clear subjects, good lighting, and some depth work best. Avoid heavily compressed images, collages, or images with lots of text overlay.
Portrait photos with a clear subject and some background separation tend to produce the most dramatic results. Landscape photos with natural elements like water, clouds, or foliage also animate beautifully.
Unlike Text to Video, your prompt for Image to Video should focus entirely on motion and camera movement — the visual content is already defined by your image.
Good example: "Gentle zoom in, hair blowing in the wind, soft smile appearing, shallow depth of field with bokeh in background."
Bad example: "A beautiful woman with brown hair standing in a field" — this describes the image, not the motion.
Different models handle Image to Video differently. Kling 2.6 is excellent at preserving facial features while adding natural motion. Runway excels at smooth camera movements. Wan 2.6 produces good results with landscapes and nature scenes.
Your source image resolution matters. Upload the highest quality image you have. The AI will handle downscaling if needed, but it cannot add detail that isn't there. Aim for at least 1080p source images.
A powerful technique is to use Veedco's AI Image Generation to create a perfect source image first, then animate it with Image to Video. This gives you full control over both the visual content and the motion.
Don't try to completely change the scene — the AI works best when enhancing what's already in the image. Avoid asking for dramatic perspective changes that would require content the image doesn't contain. Keep motion subtle and natural for the most realistic results.
